Ultra-Thin MAX Picks: MAX-10B through MAX-18B
The SouthOrd MAX Lock Pick series reflects 30 years of experience manufacturing lock picking tools, and our efforts to produce the best lock picks on the market. They are machined from High Yield Stainless Steel, the strongest and most durable stainless available, from which we can manufacture lock picks.
Without revealing the exact specifics of the steel we use, all of our SouthOrd lock picks, besides the MAX series, are manufactured from Full Hard Spring Stainless Steel, which has a minimum tensile strength of 185,000 PSI (though the steel we source has higher tensile ratings than industry standards). It’s a great steel to use for lock picking-- Strong, with a good balance of durability and resiliency, so that the lock picks are neither too brittle nor too malleable.
Ultra-Thin MAX Picks: MAX-01B through MAX-09B
By comparison, High Yield Stainless Steel, which is used for our MAX Lock Pick series, has a minimum tensile strength of 270,000 PSI, and is often used for applications requiring extra high strength. The high yield stainless steel used in our SouthOrd MAX Lock Picks is far stronger than what lock picking requires, but SouthOrd MAX reflects our very best.
M2000B Twenty-two Piece Ultra-Thin MAX Lock Pick Set
Prior generations of MAX Lock Picks were machined from .023” thick and .031” thick High Yield Stainless Steel, and our current generation is machined from .025” thick High Yield Stainless Steel. This NEW SouthOrd Ultra-Thin MAX Lock Picks Series is machined from .020" thick High Yield Stainless Steel, making it our thinnest line of lock picks, for even more picking room in small and narrow keyways.
M3000B Twenty-nine Piece Ultra-Thin MAX Lock Pick Set
Like the .025” thick MAX Lock Pick Series, our NEW Ultra-Thin SouthOrd MAX Lock Picks feature our rivetless stainless steel handles, providing the user excellent feedback and feel. It is also run through extra treatments in our signature, multi-step polishing process, resulting in ultra-smooth, highly-polished lock picks, for outstanding performance in the keyway.
Like the .025” SouthOrd MAX Series, our NEW Ultra-Thin .020” SouthOrd MAX Series includes 18 different Lock Pick designs in .020” Thickness, and 3 Lock Pick Sets: the M2000B, M3000B and M4000B.
